Bollywood movies you should watch this Independence Day

For us, Independence Day is not just a feeling, it is rather an emotion that depicts how our forefathers struggled bravely against the vicious rule of Englishmen. And they are the only reason we are standing here safe and sound and celebrating our 73rd Independence Day.

In the same context, Bollywood has played a bigger role in keeping us connected with our history. Now, as 15th August is round the corner lets revisit the battlefield by watching these patriotic movies which will take you back to the era when our freedom strugglers did their best to make the country free.

The movies that you must watch this Independence day are –

1.’Manikarnika’ –

This film depicts that Manikarnika was the wife of the king of Jhansi. She refuses to bow down when the East India Company tries to annex the kingdom. Her rebellion soon turns into a fiery revolution against the British Raj.

2.’Border’ –

In this movie, A band of 120 Indian soldiers in Longewala region defend their post all night until they receive assistance from the Indian Air Force the next morning.

3.’LOC Kargil’ –

The film presents that the soldiers of the Indian Army try to locate their patrol officers after they learn that Pakistani troops are crossing the Line of Control. A fierce battle then ensues between the two nations.

4.’Rang De Basanti’ –

This is the story of a few youngsters. When a foreigner girl named Sue selects a few students to portray various Indians who struggled for freedom in her film, she unwittingly awakens their patriotism. The emotional and mental process turns them into rebels for a cause.

5.’Uri- The Surgical Strike’ –

Coming to this movie, Major Vihaan Singh Shergill of the Indian Army leads a covert operation against a group of people, who were responsible for the lives of Indian soldiers lost in Uri, Kashmir in the year 2016.
